The car without phone

Huanggang Polytechnic College

Unknowingly, we have formed this terrible habit. The first thing to open our eyes in the morning is to touch where the mobile phone is, and the last thing to do before going to bed at night is to play with the mobile phone. And people are using their mobiles phones while driving, as it was very normal, putting in risk their own lives and others lives. We, the "Service Secret Team" chose this risk behavior as the focus of our campaign.

Tes Idées

Data show that distraction accounts for 80% of all car accidents. Using a cell phone while driving increases the chance of a car accident by nine times. When the speed is 60 km/h, look down at the mobile phone for 2 seconds, which is equivalent to driving 36 meters blindly. In case of emergency, the brake needs at least 20 meters. It takes 12 seconds to open and read a microblog on a smartphone, which is equivalent to about 216 meters for a car to drive blindly.

Huanggang Traffic Police announced the top ten causes of death caused by traffic accidents and driving and playing with mobile phones is responsible for 30% of the deaths. More importantly, according to the data provided by traffic police uncle, there were 693 traffic accidents in Huanggang City, of which 206 (30.1%) were caused by "other illegal acts that hinder safe driving" such as answering telephone calls and playing Wechat.

Besides this research of statistics in our town that shows the dimension of the problem, we observed a series of driver's behaviors while traveling and make a record of how many were using the cell phone. Then, we created a questionnaire and went out to the street to interview drivers. We also made our survey available online. In total, we collected 154 valid paper questionnaires and 261 electronic questionnaires and, unfortunately, the results showed that this bad habit of using the cell phone while driving is very common.

Tes initiatives

We decided to take action with several initiatives:

1. We approached the class and enter the campus for signature swearing.

2. We stepped into society and ask private car owners, bus drivers, taxi drivers and so on to publicize our ideas.

3. We shared messages on websites and apps

4. We made an interesting question-and-answer activity in a prize-winning competition to enhance self-awareness.

5. We communicated with professional platforms to enhance the breadth and depth of our campaign.

6. We contacted the local influential self-Media to report on the dangers of driving and playing with mobile phones.
