From the methodology of the Sesi college by learning workshops, Yellow Workshop was presented with approximately 80 students divided into 2 rooms dealing with urban mobility in the municipality of Quatro Barras.
In the city of Quatro Barras metropolitan area of Curitiba with an area of 179,538 Km2 and with approximately 22,353 inhabitants, the region is experiencing a precarious situation for our urban mobility, with the lack of infrastructure for our cyclists. The urban roads of this city are in agreement with the population needs, but the responsible organs sin when the subject is part of the routes destined to cyclists. None of these roads nor in sidewalks have a bicycle path, that is, part of this pavement is not yet intended for this target audience. For the improvement of our cyclists, they should have more support, publicity, sponsorship, and with this to have but improvement in infrastructure such as bicycle lane, improvement in signage, awareness of drivers and pedestrians, tracks for our young people practice sports in the city of Quatro Barras . The city is very poor in infrastructure because it is small, it lacks cycle paths on the streets, which improves bumpy streets and unpaved streets. There is a lack of safety not only for cyclists but also for pedestrians who suffer from the lack of safety on the streets of the city and also when it rains some establishments are flooded by the streets being uneven and poorly made.
In the metropolitan area of Curitiba and the municipality of Quatro Barras had to create a law that obliges all cities to develop the bike path to facilitate the displacement of the Baikeiros and their safety. We can take the example of the city of São Paulo that founded an article obligatorily that all avenues and streets that are reconstituted are determined the construction of bicycle lanes. Bringing it to our daily lives, we can easily realize the need for greater attention in the area of locomotion, especially when it comes to cyclists, who suffer from missing bike lanes and a better structure to store their bikes.
The workshop refers to the future of urban mobility is not in the bicycle, in the car, in the bus or in any means of transport, but in the integration between them. In this way, the workshop seeks to present a broad view on the importance of thinking about ways of urban mobility and its impacts on society today. From this approach, enable our students a critical, responsible and inventive look at the city and its forms of mobility, at the same time, in which the student develops the capacity to think society by articulating several areas of knowledge, through a class of field that was on April 25, where he had his exit from the College until the arrival in Field Wing Delta (hill of the Anhangava). The students had the opportunity to get to know one of the tourist attractions of Quatro Barras; on arrival the camp was picnic where the students themselves brought their own snacks and ate together, everyone enjoyed the view and had fun, the school prized for safety and well being. About 80 students attended the cycling tour that ran on the specified date. The event addressed the theme of more efficient means of transport, adding both nature and humans, without harming both, reporting through interviews and videos made with the residents and students who traveled by bicycle on the way. As it happened, the students had fun and took advantage of the proposed field class with their doubts and inquiries to elaborate this project.
Report of a resident of Quatro Barras:
As a resident of Quatro Barras, I can report the lack of structure and investments in the urban mobility sector. in addition to having no bicycle lanes or at least cycle paths, to encourage the population to use bicycles as a means of transportation, it becomes even more evident that the city has no importance in relation to cyclists and pedestrians, since pedestrians do not has sidewalks for walking, and when they decide to turn the main downtown street into a three-lane runway, they end up making it even more difficult to use bicycles and also decrease parking options in the area. Another problem that can be mentioned is the excess of roundabouts, which causes discomfort for both pedestrians, cyclists and drivers, who need to pay close attention when making the journey. a case that I myself witnessed, was when a school bus failed to make the roundabout near the police station, the solution that the driver of the vehicle found was to go over it, such a daily occurrence can lead to an accident, not there is how to charge the driver since there is nothing he can do. "
Finally With the completion of this work, we had the conclusion that there are many ways of getting around without being polluting. There will obviously be fewer accidents without polluting transport, and for this to occur, the population and city hall will have to have the same commitment to establish a city with developed urban mobility.
