Careless drivers have always been a major problem in Turkey. Drivers in Turkey don't give much respect to pedestrians. Therefore, we developed the ‘Between Life and Death’ project in order to draw attention to risky behaviors and educate our peers.

Tes initiatives
Our school is located in Ankara which is one of the biggest cities, and the capital of Turkey. When a city becomes bigger, it has more cars and more roads; this means that there are more possibilities for traffic accidents to happen. When we were in 8th grade, we heard that one of the high school students got killed in a traffic accident. She didn't press the button for the lights while she was passing through the road and when she got to the middle of the road she got frightened and the accident happened. All of the school mourned her and we felt very sad. Even though we didn't know the girl very much, we felt bad and realized that this kind of accident can happen to people that are close to us. And now we're in 11th grade and when we learned about this project, we all wanted to participate in it to prevent accidents like that one. We thought about it and the first thing that came to our minds was the lack of education.
Ankara is a very big city, so we knew that we couldn't educate everyone in the city but we should do our best to educate as many people as soon as possible. We started at our school because the things that are learned when you’re a kid are easier to keep in mind.
