Only with a click - Stop App

Take Care! A single second can take you your life! The use of cell phones on the road is dangerous and people use them. This project focuses on this problems and we created an APP – STOP, to limit the use of these devices by road users.

Responsible behaviors save lives

We, 11th graders at Montessori school in Medellín, developed a project established by challenge based learning, aiming at parents, students and school staff with the objective of raising awareness on three risk behaviors: the use of cell phone while driving, the excess of speed around and in the school and the misuse of seatbelt.

Turistando App

To promote a sustainable tourism, we created the App “TuristAndo” for people who are interested in using bikes and making routes in a sustainable way. Our App is free and easy to use and provides diverse information to users. Therefore, it encourages the use of bicycles, reduces the environmental footprint, improves the quality of life, health and welfare of residents and tourists who choose the bicycle as a means of mobility in the city of Bogota.

"Ceda el paso" - Give the way

At IE El Playón, we execute an educational strategy on mobility, based on play,  with clear, concrete and achievable objectives. For this, we carry out campaigns and recreational activities in both English and Spanish with the slogan CEDA EL PASO - GIVE THE WAY in order to persuade the educational community that it is possible to reduce the traffic risk and accident rates inside and outside the school.

From 4 to 2

Our campaign is focused on promoting sustainable mobility for students and teachers in our school. 2 years ago, when we participated for the first time in this challenge, we identified the main issues and problems of mobility in our city in the future. Our focus is to promote the use of bicycle in our school community, as a more effective transport, not only for its positive impact on the environment but also because our school is located in a not very accessible road. The campaign this year has get more supporters given the rising levels of pollution in our city.

We have developed a mobile application to inform and raise awareness about traffic regulations and responsible behavior on the roads. This way, our intention is to help reducing the high rate of accidents that currently occurs in the highway Medellin-Bogotá, near to our school.
